Karen Bergstrom

Karen Bergstrom has over 33 years leadership experience, with clinical management and program development in the child welfare and juvenile justice sector serving children, families and adults. Karen’s strategic planning and management in both private and government blended initiatives, has successfully provided a blueprint to serve vulnerable families. She recognizes the value of the community of volunteers and has catalyzed national innovative partnerships between the child welfare systems, and the faith community through a movement called, “Safe Families”. Karen has a strong belief supported by both her professional and personal life experience that the institution of family upheld by the local church is the primary place of healing. Her private practice specializes in families. She is a favorite conference speaker and staff development trainer and has consistently served on non-profit boards. She also worked at Microsoft as a Child Family Expert and taught for years at Seattle Pacific University. Dr. Bergstrom received her B.S. in Human Services and her Doctorate in Psychology.
